about reiki

reiki5“Rei” refers to universal spiritual wisdom while “ki” represents the vital life force. Reiki’s energy charges the individual’s energy field with positive energy and at the same time clears, strengthens and cleanses stagnant pathways to allow the free flow of life-force energy in a healthy and natural way. Reiki is not a religion and has no dogma. Often, individuals find receiving Reiki creates a deeper connection to their own religious or spiritual lives.

Reiki works with the intelligence of the body, mind, heart, and soul to flow where most needed. As a healing modality, Reiki is a gentle form of hands-on energy enrichment. Universal, spiritual energy and wisdom pass through the practitioner to the receiver of the treatment. The receiver’s own innate healing wisdom directs the energy where it is most needed. The Reiki practitioner is simply the conduit for the universal spiritual energy and wisdom of Reiki.

What does a Reiki session look like?

The individual receiving Reiki can be standing, sitting, lying down or even in a different location from the practitioner. The process entails gentle hand positions intended to interface with both the endocrine system and the chakra system. Hands can be directly on the body or slightly above depending on individual preference. Many people report that after a Reiki session, they feel deeply comforted.
